Nyx Wicked Lippies (Envy and Scandalous) Review

On the right: Scandalous
On the left: Envy

Color: Envy

Color: Scandalous.

These are a part of my makeup hall I posted about a few weeks ago (here). I saw them when I was looking at Nyx's website and couldn't get them off my mind and I was feeling a bit adventurous so I decided to go for some colors I have NOTHING like in my collection.

I have to say I'm quite pleased with my purchase, when I ordered them I thought I might wear them once if that and decide I hated them and that they looked awful, but I'm very pleasantly surprised to find that I quite like the uniqueness of them and If used with the right looks and make up I think they look quite nice.

I'll start with my thoughts on Envy, I decided that being such a deep blue this color needed a dark look so I paired it with a grey eye shadow and a black dress and kept my look very dark. I was VERY shocked when I sent this picture to my boyfriend, who was VERY against these colors when I showed the online pictures to him, when he said I actually looked good and he actually liked it (now he hasn't seen this one in person yet so he won't say 100% he likes it but he's pretty close).

With Envy, I feel like this is a very beachy color. When I fist tried it out I was just thinking I have to take this one to the beach with me. I decided with that in mind to  wear this one with a beachy style. I paired it with a black spaghetti strap maxi dress and a brown natural eye shadow look, but with a twist. I used my Sedona Lace 168 color palette (review: part 1 and review part 2) to put a teal eye shadow, about the color of the lipstick, under my eyes. I didn't use a lot, just enough for some subtle color and I REALLY liked how it turned out. I liked it so much in fact that I wore just that eye shadow under my eyes on its own the other day. Sadly my boyfriend does not like scandalous at all. lol

My only issue with these is what happens when eating and drinking, they do not last through doing that and you end up with a ring of color around the outer part of your mouth, not so attractive looking. So you should always have these with you for touch ups as well as a mirror. Especially if you are eating and drinking anything.

Now I'm gonna be honest, you're likely gonna get some weird looks wearing these. I wore them when I went to my church and I definitely got some strange looks and some amused looks. Some people liked them, some not so much. My boyfriend makes jokes about me eating smurfs when I wear them, even the one he likes. lol I think one of the keys to pulling these off is having confidence when you wear them, you have to know you look good and rock them. These are definitely not for the faint of heart.

So do you guys think you could pull these off? Would you even try? Do you have any solutions to them coming off when eating and drinking? What about some of Nyx's other Wicked Lippies? Let me know in the comments! :)

What you should know about dating a gamer

Hey guys!! I wanted to do a slightly different kind of post today, my boyfriend is a gamer and so I thought it could be fun to do a post on what you should know about dating a gamer, and the best part? This list is gamer approved. :) lol 1. Gamers will game... alot. If you are going to date a gamer you have to understand this, gaming is part of what he loves doing, especially if he's hardcore gamer, so don't be one of those girlfriends who's constantly trying to make him stop playing, gamers don't like that at all. You shouldn't try and change him, but accept who he is, or other option find a guy who isn't a gamer. lol 2. Sometimes,  it will take an eternity to get a text back,  or he forgets. You'll get used to it. There are just some games where you can't pause them or they are just too difficult for him to text you back quickly. If he likes this game: that can be especially true. And trust me I've played it, he

Getting my Belly Button Pierced

(Photo by Grace, Southern Grace Photography) So I did something super exciting and scary recently. I got my belly pierced!! I researched and found a awesome tattoo shop called Golden Spiral Tattoo, I totally recommend them btw. I went with my fiance and we told them what we were there for and I gave them my ID and signed the papers after the piercing artist did a short 'consultation' which was basically just looking at and feeling my belly button area. She told me because I bend right at my belly button when I sit and stuff I would need to be sure to sit up straight, but it looked good and she could do it. We went back with her to a little room and she cleaned around my belly button and marked where to pierce with her maker and measured the area. She had a few different belly rods I guess? laying out for me to choose from so I chose a small diamond looking one (pictured obviously lol) and she sanitized it. She had me lay on the table and adjust

Loreal True Match Foundation Review

I've had this for a few months now so I decided it was time to do a review. I have the color Alabaster which is a cool shade. It actually matches my skin tone perfectly so that's a really big plus. This lasts all day long, but on me it doesn't really help all that much with my skin getting oily/shiny looking. I actually think this might make my skin look MORE shiny because it has a bit of a dewy finish (which is great if your skin isn't already oily). That being said I do like this, but I'm not sure I'll repurchase it because of the shine factor but I think if you have normal or dry skin then this would be something good to try and they have plenty of shades so it's a good chance you'll be able to find your skin tone.
